Here is our most recent update on child sponsorship:

Swaziland – Out of 180 children, 70 are needing sponsors

Guatemala – Out of 230 children, 80 are needing sponsors

Kenya – Hundreds of children are needing sponsors

Swaziland (Children’s Cup) and Guatemala (Vision Trust) are each unique places for Connection Pointe as the Care Pointe at Njojane and the Learning Center at Los Verdes are both 100% dependent on our church to sponsor these children.

Kenya (CMFI) is a shared responsibility, which is why there is no specific number to give you. We work in cooperation with three other churches in sponsoring children at the Madoya School.

NEXT OPPORTUNITY

Our next opportunity to participate in child sponsorship is this Saturday evening, 6:30-8. It is not too late to join the 81 people already registered to come write letters to these children in these countries.  Our program will feature our partnership with Swaziland, but children from all countries will be written to this evening. If you have not yet registered, you can do so by contacting Teresa and letting her know you are coming.

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.’” (Matthew 19:14)

When you sponsor a child, you catch another glimpse of the character God likes to see in His followers; like a child living life in simple faith, trust, purity. That’s how God wants us to be with Him. In addition, as you build relationship with a sponsored child you catch an opportunity to see God’s Kingdom from her/his cultural lens. This makes you better where you are as you understand more broadly God’s Kingdom work in Swaziland, Guatemala and Kenya. It’s a win-win arrangement.

Hope to see many of you Saturday evening.

Til next week,

Dan

Children are all smiles receiving encouragement from those who love them and pray for them.
